In the interests of safety for both riders and motorists and to comply with the Department of Transport and Main Roads and Police Permits, RIDER SUPPORT VEHICLES ARE NOT PERMITTED TO FOLLOW THE RACE.
The conditions of our event permits require that non-race traffic is able to approach and pass the convoys safely, which is made difficult by supporters’ vehicles queuing behind the race. ALL RIDER SUPPORT VEHICLES VEHICLES MUST LEAVE THE START VILLAGE BEFORE 8:50AM to allow you time to move along the course and park to watch the riders pass.
Competitors are encouraged to leave warm-up clothing etc. with their race groups’ official spares vehicles and collect them at the finish village in Warwick.
DRIVERS OF VEHICLES FOLLOWING THE RACE MAY BE FINED BY THE POLICE AND THEIR RIDER WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.
DRONE PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEOGRAPHY
This is a courtesy notice to inform you that there will be a drone operator taking some photos and video of this year's race.
Stewart Tyrrell is an experienced drone operator and has volunteered his time to shoot some photos and videos for promotional purposes. He will also be taking some photos and video using hand-held cameras at some points (i.e. the start and finish and possibly out on the course).
When using the drone, he will be abiding by Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) regulations for the operation of remotely piloted aircraft (RPA). He will only be operating the drone in areas in which it is safe to do so and will not be operating the drone over riders, vehicles or in populous areas (i.e. the start and finish areas).
Look out for some of his work on upperlimb.com Cunningham Classic and KPCC social media after the event.
